Dansko is

not in Scandinavia. See, I had an entire post planned, built around Dansko shoes. I had planned to talk for a bit about Lisa, the Swedish foreign exchange student that I went to high school with. She was so much fun, with a bubbly personality. And she laughed at us when we shivered as the temperature dipped into the 50s.
I had planned to relate the post back to the one I did on the Bernina Express a couple of days ago, and comment about how Dansko boots could be really useful in all that snow—how the fine craftsmanship would ensure that your feet stayed warm and dry, and that would be one thing you didn’t need to worry about, once you had applied some good waterproofing to them.
I had big plans, and all of them revolved round the factory that produced Danskos being located in Scandinavia where a name like Dansko ought surely to originate! But! Hello, Dansko is not in Scandinavia. Dansko is in Pennsylvania, and so I am left to say something silly like “at least it gets warm enough there to wear Dansko sandals“. My face is red, and I am embarrassed, and I do not have time to research that area of PA for you. I’m sure there are lots of wonderful things to see and do there, in addition to visiting the not-in-Scandinavia Dansko outlet. And I will tell you about them, but not today.
