Disappointed

Monday, September 17th, 2007

Here’s a short blurb that tempted me to investigate further.

Nothing says vacation like Massanutten, VA rentals in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. The condos that they offer are nothing short of amazing and I know you’ll love the view afforded by the Massanutten condo rentals. Whether your thing is skiing, biking, or hiking, I know that there’s something for you at Massanutten. Check out their website today and find out what’s available for when you’re ready to go on a Virginia vacation.

I had really hoped that I would find great info about the area on the site, but honestly, I was a little disappointed. They just had a couple of sentences regarding each activity, and some pictures, but nothing like what I had hoped. I expected breath-taking vistas, along with zoomed in shots, but that’s not what I got. Details, ya’ll! I want details. And incredible pictures.

London Pass

Friday, September 14th, 2007

Here’s a great idea for those of you planning a trip to London (can I come, too?) The London Pass allows you to gain admittance to 56 London area attractions for one fee. You can get your pass for one, two, three or six days, and you can even combine it with unlimited travel on the bus, train and underground. And you get to go to the head of the line! These aren’t chump change attractions either. Use it at places like Tower of London, London Zoo, Kensington Palace, Windsor Castle, London Aquarium, Shakespeare’s Globe, St Paul’s Cathedral, all big name places you’d be paying to get in anyway. Prices currently range from £20.00 for a 1 day child’s pass to £112.00 for a six day adult pass with travel.

Let me see if I can add this up: save more + do more = sweet deal for any London Tourist. Oh, one more thing. Time starts ticking when you use it, not when you buy it, so you can get it before you go! (Travel passes are valid from the date you specify).

Snow Bunny? Not!

Thursday, September 13th, 2007

Here in Coastal North Carolina, snow is a real rarity. I remember one big snow storm on my entire time here, and I was a child then. It snowed almost a foot about an hour inland at my Grandparent’s house, and it was a-ma-zing. That’s the most snow I ever saw at one time until I was living in Germany, and then in Colorado. I was looking at some photos on a site that specializes in Whistler accommodations today, and they reminded me a lot of Colorado.

condo.jpgI think I’d like to go for a couple of days, if I was assured I would not have to stay any longer than that. I’ve never skied, nor do I really plan to learn at this point, so I would be all about the fireplaces and hot tubs in the Whistler ski lodges, LOL! Doesn’t that look so cozy? I could totally curl up there and read a book, and pretend I was sad to be missing the slopes! After all, what’s the point of going to a ski lodge if you actually have to ski?

Whirlwind on the Cheap

Do you ever find life getting away from you? I have been meaning to get back over here since I waved at you on Monday, because I wanted to tell you about another place to find great deals on airfare. You know I’ve said before that the less you have to spend to get there, the more fun you can have after you arrive! And if you save enough, well, just maybe you can book another trip. Afer all, if travel is good, more travel is better.

One of the easiest ways to save a big chuck of change in one fell swoop is to get a great deal on airfare. This is especially easy to do if you care more about getting away than about where you go.Cheapoair Top 25 Deals features hot deals that change weekly, and I saw prices there on Delta Airlines from New York to Toronto at $116 and on American from New York to St. Thomas starting at $159. If you have a few days free and a little money in your pocket, check them out and see what you can afford to do. You may be able to go further than you think.

Waving at Ya!

Monday, September 10th, 2007

I’ve been traveling around the inside of a couple of my own blogs for the past while, instead of virtually visiting various vacational vistas. (How’s that for some incredibly inspiring alliteration, ya’ll??) After that, I think I need a real vacation, but since that isn’t going to happen, I’ll have to settle for wishing I was somewhere relaxing, and today my first destination is probably Perth. That makes sense, since I am already visiting Australia.

Ok, kidding aside, sometimes you just want to do something fun without planning ahead. When that happens, I recommend you check out a site that specializes in last minute flights and hotels. Whether you prefer Virgin Blue or any cheap flights will do, working with a company that regularly deals with spontaneous travel arrangements can help you avoid some of the penalties that you typically run into when you decide to travel on a whim. And every penny you save getting there is one you can spend on fun after you arrive, right?
